Blue Tree Project

Kicking the stigma of mental health, one blue tree at a time.

Behind each blue tree lies a story

Blue Tree Project was founded with a mission to help spark difficult conversations and encourage people to speak up when experiencing mental health concerns. We believe help is never as far away as it feels.

Blue trees dotted across every continent of the world (minus Antarctica) are both beacons of hope, and conversation starters.

Something that began out of tragedy now offers a positive way for people to connect and help change the way we talk about mental health.

Donate to Blue Tree Project. Every contribution counts.

Help us build a mentally healthy future and support our cause.
All funds will be channelled into community events, projects and educational courses.

The Tree House

The Tree House

‘The Tree House’ is Perth’s newest collaborative hub powered by Blue Tree Project serving as the headquarters for the charity. The character style office in West Perth offers plenty of character and soul making it the perfect home for Blue Tree Project.

We visited Manea Senior College where the last mural as part of the ‘School Mural Project’ was painted by @imogenpalmer_art thanks to our partnership with @higgins_coatings .

Our CEO Kendall spoke with all year 10 and 11 students to share more on the project and ways we can help kick the stigma of mental health. It was awesome to hear that Manea is introducing cohort wide Student Mental Health First Aid training - something that will no doubt stay with them beyond the school yard. 💙
Two hands are better than one! 👐

Anything that is human is mentionable, anything that is mentionable can be more manageable. Let’s work together as a community to break the stigma surrounding mental health. 💙
Limited stock left for our winter drop! These jumpers have been our reliable go-to pieces as this weather hangs around! ☁️

Afterpay now available. Shop via link in bio 💙
It’s Mental Health Week and we’re kicking things off with our national ‘Paint A Tree Blue Day’! 💙 We are so grateful to everyone who has embraced our project and helped us spread our mission and cause since 2019!

We all have a part to play in building a mentally healthy future 💙 what are you doing this week to help?
You’re going to see plenty on your social feeds this week in regards to mental health but we just ask you to do this one relatively simple task. Create a proactive ‘go-to’ personal mental health plan for yourself if things were to take a turn for the worst. What would be your strategy and where would you go?

Maybe it’s time to read up on your local mental health support providers (including small lesser known not for profits doing great things), or on your local psychologists & counsellors that might be a good fit if the day came.

We realise people will be at different stages and hope this may be able to help keep some of you mentally healthy if you hit a couple of bumps along the way💙
Staff & customers at Rocky Bay (Mosman Park) hub got a bit creative for #MentalHealthWeek! 💙

Rock Bay offer a comprehensive range of NDIS therapies and specialty services and celebrate potential in all its amazing uniqueness. The team at Rocky Bay said “We are excited to be supporting the important message behind the Blue Tree Project, and we're ready to partner with our customers, carers and staff to kick the stigma around mental illness”.
Bushmead residents came together for #mentalhealthweek to paint a community blue tree, each leaving their handprints to mark their support. 💙🖐️

City of Swan Mayor David Lucas also lent a hand. “It is my hope that this tree will serve as a permanent catalyst to spark conversations in the local community around mental wellness and suicide prevention. Now more than ever, it is important that we consistently show people kindness, support and understanding with regard to their mental health.”
The reach of the Blue Trees are stretching far and wide. Now our mission to break the stigma of mental health has reached the shores of South Africa! 💙

At Hillside Aluminium, in Richards Bay, colleagues came together to talk about mental health issues in the workplace. Each person then received a blue flower to add to their office tree. We love seeing how communities have created their own spin on the blue tree.
Raising The Vibe Festival @raisingthevibe_festival over the weekend did just that!! It was so great to see the crowds dancing away and hearing so many conversations about mental health. 💪 The atmosphere at the foreshore was pretty special and were stoked all funds raised are going to the @safespacebusselton 💙Thank you to everyone who came down to see @southsummitband @deathbydenim @prettyuglysband and @potplanthouseparty - they all did a ripper job up on stage 🤙 until next year!
We’re not sure what’s better? The fact that 1.5 billion containers have been saved from landfill or your 10c donations can help charity’s make change. ♻️

We now have our own @4changewa membership and can accept your 10c containers. Take a screenshot of the QR code to help us directly.

P.S spot the blue tree cap on this local hero from @bottletophill at the Perth Royal Show recently.🧢💙
It was a real community effort to get this tree painted in Kingsthorpe, Queensland. Local businesses and family friends rallied together to get it all done before the rain settled in. Special thanks to Loughlin’s Mum for being the driving force behind this tree. 💙
This week we finally got to see the incredible engineering feat in land at Karara Mine. Even their trains were put on hold for this whopping blue tree which now stands at their site entrance! The project helped rally several contractors and organisations to do their part and it has become a catalyst for change up on site 💪.

We finished the visit off with a trivia night and BBQ that filled the wet mess!

Thank you to each and everyone who has helped us spread our cause and mission at Karara. And a special thanks to Lidia who is the cornerstone of the project on site 💙 We can’t wait to share more at @mercinperth around the fundraising figures of the mighty Karara Dragons Team!

Cats out of the bag! New threads in for summer🙀💙 #sneekpeak
It was a night of impact, entertainment, fundraising and fun! 🥊 What an incredible event @corporate_boxing_event was to be involved in!

Each competitor trained for 12 weeks to build resilience and improve their fitness to ensure a safe fight. Thank to those who got in the ring to fight the stigma for @bluetreeproject 💙

Thank you for having us as your charity partner @corporate_boxing_event ! It’s always a special experience to be the charity partner of events and it’s even greater when we get to share the space with incredible individuals such as the ‘Strong Minds, Strong Mines’ team (@soathehulk & @nidiarodriguesxo). They have a work ethic that is hard to match, and the humblest hearts that will only do good!

Looking forward to sharing more about the night - particularly the fantastic shots by @shirinismailcarter & @ericpaulgoldie 📸
Congratulations to the 2023 Young Australian of the Year for WA @pbol800!

We extend this congratulations to all the finalists and nominees for the @australianoftheyear awards 💙

From Kendall:
It has been a privilege to be a part of the awards and I will never take for granted being given this platform to help spread the cause of @bluetreeproject. I also want to thank the crew from the ‘A-Team’ /awesome foursome - your friendship and support has been so humbling and special! Goodluck Peter and all the best for your next chapter 💙
Never Walk Alone - @penrith_mens_walk_and_talk_ & WestCare Penrith rallied their community to paint a tree along the Great River Walk, a popular route on the banks of the Nepean River. It’s groups like this that help change the attitudes by being on the ground and creating those relationships of trust. We have seen time and time again that these are crucial for people to open up when struggling.

Congratulations to these guys for helping kick the stigma of mental health. We appreciate the time and effort involved to help spread our cause. We hope the tree helps serve as a reminder to those out and about, but also help spark those important conversations whilst doing it. 💙
